-
- 1. Enhancements from previous intelligent card device driver (1.4.3).
-
- - Support added for the MC/2e series of cards.
-
- 2. Bug Fixes
-
- - The EISA/Xem card was previously not reliably recognized.
-
- - On older COM/Xi cards the driver could time out waiting for the
- FEPOS to boot up so the waiting period for COM/Xi's has been
- much extended.
-
- - Calls to the IOCTL GET_TRANSMIT_STATUS (Category1,Function 0x64)
- would not correctly report the condition of the transmitter being
- paused pending assertion of DSR.
-
- - To work around problems with the Print Manager doing a Final
- Close on a device BEFORE all data was clear of the that device,
- the Final Close will now wait one timeout period for queued data
- to be transmitted. After this, the driver will proceed with the
- required Final Close functions of flushing all data buffers.
-
- - Modem signals would not necessarily follow changes in hardware
- flow control assignments.
-
- - 32k memory window MC/Xi cards would not correctly allocate
- data buffers.
-
- 3. Known Limitations
-
- - Maximum 256 channels.
- - The COM/Xi is limited to 9600 or at most 19200 baud. All other
- intelligent cards will support 38.4K baud on all channels, and
- 57K baud on a few channels.
-
- 4. Manual Errata
-
- - On some models of PS/2 under OS/2 2.0, IO Port Address 0x108 is
- known to fail. If there are initialization problems such as
- failure to pass shared memory tests or to boot the BIOS, try
- different IO Addresses -- 0x228 is typically a good choice.
-
- - There have been many additional command line arguments
- defined for the driver since the printing of the manual: see
- the included 'install.doc' file for definitions.
